Flowering Period & Overlap Window
Peaches and nectarines are the same species and can share pollen when bloom overlaps. Most cultivars set fruit with their own pollen, so a partner is not normally required. Pollen-sterile exceptions such as J.H. Hale and Indian Free need a fertile peach or nectarine flowering at the same time.
Belle of Georgia flowers within the peach Group 2–4 overlap window. Only pollen-sterile cultivars require a separate fertile peach or nectarine donor.

Incompatible Varieties & Exclusions (2)
These cultivars cannot serve as pollinizers for Belle of Georgia because their pollen is sterile, flowering does not overlap, or a documented close relationship excludes the pairing.
Indian Free produces no viable pollen, so it cannot serve as a pollinizer.
J.H. Hale produces no viable pollen, so it cannot serve as a pollinizer.
Grower Commentary: Belle of Georgia Fruit Quality
Belle of Georgia is a historic white-fleshed freestone peach with viable pollen and self-fertile flowers. Its Group 3 bloom can carry a crop without a companion. If the block also contains J.H. Hale or Indian Free, Belle of Georgia may donate pollen where blossom dates coincide, but the sterile cultivar still needs a deliberate donor layout. A peach and a nectarine share the same pollination pool when bloom overlaps.
The existing record does not attach a measured chill requirement to this cultivar. Do not import a number from another Georgia peach; match the planting to local winter and bloom observations instead. White-fleshed dessert fruit deserves selective picking and gentle handling, while a heavy set should be thinned early for size and branch balance. Spring frost can damage receptive flowers on a tree that is otherwise fully self-fertile.
Renew one-year fruiting shoots during pruning and keep the canopy open enough for light and hand access. A peach-compatible stock should be chosen for the soil's drainage and nematode history, with nursery confirmation of the graft. Avoid Myrobalan, Marianna, St Julien and Torinel, which are plum stocks incompatible with peach. If the block follows peaches, consider replant pressure before settling on the familiar seedling stock.
Key Orchard Considerations for Belle of Georgia
Sets fruit alone and can donate pollen to a sterile peach only with bloom overlap.
No cultivar chill figure is stored; check local winters, thin early and allow careful dessert picking.
Use a peach-compatible rootstock selected for drainage and nematode or replant pressure.
