From First-Hand Experience
Built from the orchard, not the office. I didn’t come to orcharding through software. I came to software because of orcharding.
I grew up in the countryside. My first lessons in fruit trees came from my grandfather — how to plant, prune, harvest, and work with the seasons. Back then it was a small garden, a few trees, and a rhythm that felt almost like play.
Twelve years ago, I bought an old, neglected orchard and started again — this time for real. What followed wasn’t romantic. It was trial and error: forgotten tasks, poor planning for busy seasons, buying spare parts twice because I couldn’t remember where I’d put them, losing receipts, and underestimating how many “small” costs quietly add up. And I learned the hard way that wildlife is only cute until it destroys your work.
At first, spreadsheets did the job. Then they didn’t. Too many files. Too many silos. Nothing connected. And nothing that worked well in the field when your hands are dirty and time is short.
Kropigo grew out of those frustrations. It’s not accounting software and it’s not another digital puzzle. It’s a practical system to keep track of what you do, what you use, and what it actually costs — from tasks and inventory to equipment and seasonal expenses — all in one place.
