Flowering Period & Overlap Window
Apricots flower before peach, plum and cherry, so bloom overlap and spring frost decide most outcomes. Self-fertility varies by origin: many Mediterranean-type cultivars set alone, while several North American releases need a compatible partner flowering at the same time.
Harlayne flowers within the apricot Group 3–5 window. Partner-dependent cultivars need a compatible apricot whose flowers overlap in the same days.

Incompatible Varieties & Exclusions (3)
These cultivars cannot serve as pollinizers for Harlayne because their flowering does not overlap, their pollen is unsuitable, or they share the same incompatibility group.
apricot incompatibility groups are only partly mapped, so only cultivars documented as reliable donors are offered. Goldrich is not one of them — that is a gap in the data, not evidence it is incompatible.

Grower Commentary: Harlayne Blooms Late
Harlayne is a diploid apricot whose record was corrected: an earlier label called it self-sterile, but the source guidance names it self-fertile. Bloom sits in Group 4, the latest apricot window, which gives it some distance from the earliest frost events. It should not be relied on to pollinate Group 2 trees because its flowers open after theirs are finished.
Our record notes useful field resistance to Plum Pox Virus. That is a helpful trait where the disease is a regional concern, but resistance is not immunity, so keep to nursery certification and local regulations for plant material. No cultivar chill figure is stored, so compare regional winter and bloom experience rather than borrowing a number from another apricot.
Harlayne ripens mid to late. Thin an abundant set, keep the canopy open and monitor for bacterial canker and brown rot in wet springs. Choose a rootstock suited to your soil after checking what the nursery has propagated on.
Key Orchard Considerations for Harlayne
Corrected from an older self-sterile label; verify with the nursery.
Useful frost distance, but poor overlap with early donors.
Field resistance to Plum Pox Virus is not immunity.
