Flowering Period & Overlap Window
Apricots flower before peach, plum and cherry, so bloom overlap and spring frost decide most outcomes. Self-fertility varies by origin: many Mediterranean-type cultivars set alone, while several North American releases need a compatible partner flowering at the same time.
Flavor Delight flowers within the apricot Group 1–3 window. Partner-dependent cultivars need a compatible apricot whose flowers overlap in the same days.

Incompatible Varieties & Exclusions (7)
These cultivars cannot serve as pollinizers for Flavor Delight because their flowering does not overlap, their pollen is unsuitable, or they share the same incompatibility group.
apricot incompatibility groups are only partly mapped, so only cultivars documented as reliable donors are offered. Goldbar is not one of them — that is a gap in the data, not evidence it is incompatible.

Grower Commentary: Flavor Delight as an Aprium
Flavor Delight is a Zaiger interspecific hybrid, roughly three-quarters apricot and one-quarter plum, sold as an aprium. Our record lists a diploid tree with viable pollen, Group 2 bloom and self-fertility. It can crop alone, though the source note says it crops heavier with an apricot companion, so an overlapping Group 2 apricot is a sensible addition in a serious planting.
Do not assume plum rules apply. Our record treats it in the apricot pool, and the plum side of its parentage does not turn it into a Japanese or European plum pollinizer. Early Group 2 flowers carry the usual apricot frost risk, and no cultivar chill figure is stored, so compare local winter records with observed bloom timing.
Fruit ripens early. Thin heavy sets, watch fruit handling and follow nursery guidance on rootstock. A hybrid can behave differently from either parent on drainage and disease, so keep observations from the first few seasons.
Key Orchard Considerations for Flavor Delight
Roughly 75% apricot and 25% plum; use apricot-pool advice.
Self-fertile, but an overlapping apricot can increase set.
Group 2 flowers need excellent frost drainage.
